Spring 2008 Update Most of you may have heard, the National Rehabilitation Association (NRA) is undergoing some changes. Linda Winslow is no longer the Executive Director of NRA. The association would like to thank her for her hard work and dedication to the field and our association. NRA is actively recruiting a new Executive Director. In the meantime, we are so pleased Patricia Leahy has agreed to work as our interim Executive Director. The 2008 NRA Annual Conference date and location has been announced. This year’s Conference will be October 23-26, 2008 at the St. Louis City Center Sheraton, St. Louis, Mo. The National Rehabilitation Association, a member association whose mission is promoting ethical and state of the art practice in rehabilitation with the goal of the personal and economic independence of persons with disabilities, invites your participation in our Eighty-third annual training conference and exhibition. The conference theme is “The Gateway to Rehab’s Future Through Leadership, Teamwork and Action.” Educational programs will be presented on many topics to include: access, assessment, diversity, employment ethics, managed care, rehabilitation in industry, research partnerships, medical developments, research in rehabilitation, rehabilitation counseling, school-to-work transition, technological advancements, training and education, rehabilitation leadership and cultural awareness developments. Please help us celebrate our rich history and our future in making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities and the rehabilitation community by taking advantage of the fabulous opportunities we have available to you. Several hundred rehabilitation professionals from throughout the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and other countries around the world will attend the 4 day training conference.
