Rehabilitation
Economic and personal independence for people with disabilities has long been a goal of the nation's rehabilitation program. As one of American's oldest human service efforts, the National Rehabilitation Association has helped make this goal a reality for millions of Americans with disabilities. Originally rehabilitation concentrated only on employment services. Today, there are a comprehensive array of rehabilitation services to assist people with physical and/or mental disabilities to enter or re-enter, retain employment and lead more fully functioning lives as contributing members of society.
Rehabiliation Works
• Rehabilitation helps persons with disabilities achieve greater personal and economic independence.
• Persons with disabilities contribute their time and talents to their community as full participants.
• Rehabilitation services are highly cost effective. Dollars are returned to local, state, and federal governments by every citizen with a disability who becomes a taxpayer.
• Our economy improves with the utilization of the work skills of persons with disabilities.
MRA serves the community by linking you to Agencies who will provide:
• Coordination of vocational services for optimal outcomes.
• Vocational counseling.Assessment to assist persons with disabilities in returning to work.
• Assistance with worksite job accommodations.
• Training for new jobs that would be conducive for people with disabilities.
• Technical assistance to businesses.
• Qualified workers.
