The Southwest Chapter of the Missouri Rehabilitation Association covers the Springfield, Joplin and West Plains areas and all points in between.
Membership is open to persons from the rehabilitation community working in all aspects of the rehabilitation process, including state and federal vocational rehabilitation agency personnel, Community Rehabilitation Providers staff, Supported Employment Service Providers staff, students in rehabilitation/healthcare programs,representatives from local colleges and proprietary schools, independent living center personnel, community caseworkers, direct service providers, as well as individuals interested in the field of rehabilitation.
We have Mixers in the community on a regular basis to give members an opportunity to develop relationships and gather information.
The Southwest Chapter also sponsors an annual DisAbility Employment Awareness Fair in recognition of October as Disability Employment Awareness Month. This year's fair will be on October 16th at the St. John's Cancer Center in Springfield, Mo.
Members of the National Rehabilitation Association/Missouri Rehabilitation Association are automatically a member of a local subchapter of their choice where one exists. Membership in local subchapters offers opportunities to participate in local activities and to network with local professionals. Some subchapters offer training and have fund-raising activities for grants and awards.
